About Us

Cotswold Green Energy

Cotswold Green Energy is an independent and local renewable energy specialist. With our work lying within a one hour radius of Moreton in Marsh, we are always available to provide support and aftercare for all our work.  Having installed renewable heating and hot water technologies since 2011, we have a wealth of experience and pride ourselves on excellent customer service from the design and installation phase, right through to commissioning. We are committed to flexibility when working with other trades, while still supporting our clients, and as a result have a wealth of completed installations of heat pumps, biomass boilers and solar. All of our heating engineering is carried out by in house engineers, not contractors, so we provide continuity and a friendly face on site.

Genuine low energy and low impact building is at the core of everything we do, so each project is given the utmost care and consideration to ensure we can provide realistic, whole house heating for every customer and a system that is intuitive and reliable. Our aim is always to install the most appropriate and effective system for the client's requirements, and every detail is tailored individually - no two systems we install are the same.

We can deliver services in improving the efficiency of existing gas and oil home heating systems, to provide the lowest energy consumption possible without having to make the shift to renewable energy.

Meet The Team

After undertaking a BSC in Environmental Science, an MSC in Environmental Architecture, several years of Eco Build experience, with plumbing and heating qualifications, Charlie set up as a sole trader in 2004.

Now, as the director of Cotswold Green Energy, Charlie has many years’ experience in the environmental build sector. The business has grown slowly keeping the principles of genuinely low energy buildings at the core. Passive House training, heating efficiency and product training has added to Charlie's knowledge. He understands the importance of using the appropriate materials when retrofitting buildings. Charlie will challenge clients' choices to ensure that the appropriate heating solution is installed.

When not at work, Charlie enjoys time with his wife Alexa, daughter and three sons. His other loves are the local countryside, cycling and his allotment. He is an advocate of self reliant communities and 'ground up' local economies.

Office Manager

Working with CGE since 2011, Jo ensures the smooth running of the business. Jo's responsibilities include accounts, invoicing, wages, MCS compliance and general office duties. Jo has a wealth of experience working within the renewable energy industry.

Lead Engineer

Fred has been working alongside Charlie since 2007, when he started as an apprentice. Fred is our lead engineer, he runs projects when we are at the installation stage. Fred remains calm when working under pressure. He prides himself on his careful attention to detail, and has a huge amount of experience.

Euan started his apprenticeship with us in 2022, and is undertaking his training in conjunction with Oxford Energy Academy. He is a practical person with a natural aptitude for fault finding, controls issues, and problem solving. He is a cheerful young man with a logical mind, a strong asset to the team

Abel joined CGE in the summer of 2023 having undertaken air source heat pump training, and Northampton Heating Academy training. Abel is very much a 'systems' person. When not on site, he undertakes heat loss calculations for our projects and assists with the technical specification that supports the quoting process.
